Today the Sun transits Gate 59, the Gate of Sexuality, a.k.a., the Gate of Dispersion, in the 3rd Line Martyr/Experimenter. How is this energetic frequency influencing you? What can you learn from it before it passes?
We’ve been navigating our ability to build connections and establish intimacy with others during this week’s Sun transit in Gate 59, the Gate of Sexuality, a.k.a. Dispersion or Intimacy.

And today, the Sun shines its light on the Experimentational 3rd Line in this frequency.
If you’ve been playing along for a while here, then you know by now that the 3rd Line tends to make a bit of a mess of things as it carries out its experiments.
It’s willing to trial-and-error its way through any problem. That’s how it learns in life.
It’s helpful to remember, for those of us who carry the 3rd Line in our Human Design Profile, that there’s no such thing in life as a ‘mistake.’ Only experiments.
When this 3rd Line energy is combined with Gate 59’s eagerness to break down walls and tear through the barriers that divide us in order to establish real union,
the vibe we get has us all, to one degree or another, feeling emboldened to establish intimacy and/or connection with just about anyone who’s willing to let down their guard long enough for us to get inside them.
Figuratively or literally, okay?
And so we’re tinkering about, snooping around for who’s available, who’s willing to open themselves up to us.
Maybe that’ll look like promiscuity.
Or maybe it’ll allow for a beautiful friendship to unfold.
Perhaps it’ll have us making attempts in different places to ‘belong’ but getting rejected.
Maybe it’ll look like neediness to be accepted into whatever group is willing to take us in.
And it might wind up with us barking up many, many wrong trees, getting involved in connections that aren’t good for us.
Or it’s possible that our collective openness today could result in a bunch of us finding our right team, clique, audience or niche.
It could also have us acting like a ‘player’ or being uncharacteristically open to others when we really don’t mean to be.
(If you don’t have Gate 59 defined in your HD chart and you notice you’re acting freakishly, uncomfortably open today, consider that an indicator that you just might be getting conditioned by the Sun or another person, and that it would help for you to return to the wisdom your body actually does hold to get yourself stabilized and protect yourself against this energetic influence.)
We are, in essence, asking ourselves:
Where can my seed planted? What might come about if I plant it here, or here, or there?
What’s the most fertile soil for true intimacy to grow?
How can I establish real, meaningful connection?
Where and with whom could my experimental advances for intimacy (whether they be sexual or not) be accepted and incubated?
Who will have me?
Here’s the rub of 59.3:
The original texts say of this energy,
“…where the search for identity and security can only be achieved through the dropping of barriers, in order to define oneself through union.”
So…I take that to mean we’re scratching around in the dirt today to figure out WHO WE ARE based on who is willing to get intimate with us.
We may be poking and prodding, daring to explore, seeing whose walls we can break through, working hard to figure out who’s willing to show themselves to us.
Whether we’re the explorer or the exploree, uncovering our True Selves doesn’t happen unless and until we tear down those protective walls we’ve that built up around ourselves and let our full selves be seen by another.
When you’re willing to be open with someone, it shows that you’re in this thing for the real intimacy of it,
and that gives a potential mate a clue as to how they can be helpful to you, supportive, in what ways their gifts are needed.
Your willingness to open up affirms their role of caretaker, partner, provider, nurturer, teacher, guide, supporter, whatever, when you show them your truth.
That’s when they know there’s fertile soil there, and it’s how they know whether they can enrich it.

Just notice how others may be approaching you, or how you’re inclined to open up to others if you aren’t normally one to do that.
Watch the way people conduct themselves in relationships, or in pursuit of relationship, today, and learn about how they work to establish intimacy for the next four days. See if you can notice who’s opening up, who’s trying to tear walls down, who’s yearning to belong, who’s asking you to show yourself, and who’s not willing to connect.
